Inspired by Kodaks’ Kodachrome film stock popular in the 1950’s and 60’s, this Lightroom preset brings your photos to life through a vibrant color boost and excellent highlight and shadow recovery. The preset allows you to quickly achieve this vintage but timeless look within a matter of seconds, ensuring you keep the quality and clarity of modern photography.
The download comes with two versions of the preset. The first one is is called “True.” As the name suggests this preset is true to the look and feel of the original film stock, giving you that slightly faded and desaturated look. The second preset is called “Boost”. This gives your photo that modern punch, adding more saturation and contrast while still keep the same colors and feel as the older film stock.
I used these two extremely versatile, presets to edit every single photo from my 2020 cross country US road trip. (I mostly used “Boost” but that was just my preference.) The grade suited and adapted well to many different terrains, environments and weather conditions. For the most part, all it took was a quick exposure and temperature correction to fit the shot.
